My daughter was very nervous for her braces, but we were BOTH so happy and elatedly surprised at how amazingly awesome (yes, it was that good of an experience) we both had at Larson Family Orthodontics. Dr. Nathan Larson has THE BEST …

Dr. Larson is one of a kind. Yes, a stellar orthodontist, and we will continue to use him as long as we need to… but also genuine, kind, and the type of person I want around me and my family. One interaction and he makes you feel like a best friend - and his number one patient. His team is equally phenomenal.

Quinn Van D.

Dr. Larson is the most personable and knowledgeable orthodontist we have ever had the pleasure of working with. He takes the time explain treatment options, answer questions, and make you feel comfortable in your choice. Could not recommend him enough!

What level of education is necessary to be an orthodontist?

All dentists in the United States need to receive either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the 67 accredited dental schools in the country. To get accepted into dental school, you need to have a bachelor’s degree. Dental school is three years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. When earning a specialization, like orthodontics, you need to complete another three or more years of training in that discipline. In addition to that, all dentists must complete a certain number of continuing education hours to keep their license.

What’s the best age to see an orthodontist?

Any age is a great time to see an orthodontist, as you are never too old to begin working on a healthier smile that makes you feel confident. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends the children first visit an orthodontist around the age of 7. However, children and teens are only a portion of orthodontic patients. In fact, 1 in every 5 orthodontic patients is over 21!

Are braces worth it?

Definitely! Braces are a safe, effective way to improve the appearance and health of your smile. If you have a poorly aligned bite, overcrowding, or gapped teeth, you can experience various dental problems if they aren’t treated. Those who undergo orthodontic treatment can enjoy their results for a lifetime when maintained properly!
